...but what good does knowing do, with no-one to show it to..." That line comes from recent song by Jason Isbell, and to me it epitomizes the beauty of discovery on the open road, tinged with a certain sadness of not having someone behind or beside to share to joy of those moments.
I recently moved to Maryland after 15 years of living in Europe, and with family and friends have begun to explore the roads, big and small, of the Tri-state area. My rides and times on the bikes (I have two Harley's) run the gamut from restaurant and bar hopping on a Friday or Saturday night, to day trips on the weekend, to week plus long road trips to explore far afield. I believe that getting lost (which I don't do often) is just a great way to find and explore unplanned places.
Beyond the bikes, I have a fairly wide variety of interests. I'm an accomplished photographer, and often spend my times out riding in search of the rustic and unusual shots to capture in camera. Food plays a major role in my life, both the eating and the cooking of it. I'm the proud owner of very interesting cat, born in Germany, lived in Italy, and now learning to speak English as a 3rd language. I'm simple and down to earth, yet possessed with subtle nuances of complexity. I have a great sense of humor, love the telling of stories, and the listening to the stories of others. I also have a wide variety of musical interests, both national and international.
So, to pull this all together, I've been told I'm a pretty good catch, but have been fishing in all the wrong watering holes. I'm the eternal optimist though, and to quote another of my favorite singers:
"Well the night is filled with strangers, but all you need, is one, you know. If she ain't, the one you're after, keep on looking, on down the road"...

I'm in search of that woman who sparks my interest and fits my lifestyle, and most importantly; I do the same for in return. While the term "love at first sight" gets thrown around a bit too much, I am an absolute believer in chemistry between a man and a woman. Whatever the situation that brings them into contact with each other, there is a knowing between them that transcends what the eyes see, or the words say, that they have a connection with each other that is worth exploring and nurturing.
So, who are you, really, my ideal match out there in the ether of Internet Biker Dating Land?! :) You're someone whom I find visually appealing, with a love for the open road. You have some similar interests in all things culinary and gastronomical. You're not allergic to cat dander :). You have a wicked sense of humor, and the ability to see me for who I am, and to see through me to who I might be for you. Emotional and financial stable, you are single, independent and free to explore the open road. You love to travel, explore and seek what is new around the next corner or over the next rise. You either have your own bike, or would be content on the backseat of mine. You're not afraid of all day riding, and you don't cringe at the elements when they turn against us.
You also long to not travel alone anymore, and are willing to start as friends; but hope for the stability and joy that comes from finding the one person in life that completes you.
